Glover rejects Bromley move to stay at Ashford Town

Tuesday 15th May 2007

Ashford Town chairman Mr Mark Jenner has today announced that Simon Glover has agreed terms to stay at The Homelands, writes Stephen McCartney.

The highly-rated former Dover Athletic and Folkestone Invicta star, a consistent performer for the Nuts & Bolts last term, has opted to stay at the ambitious Ryman League Division One South club, rejecting a move to Blue Square Southern newcomers Bromley.

The news comes a day after former Dover Athletic boss Clive Walker was unveiled as the club’s new manager.

“There are some interesting developments players wise being arranged at the moment and I will announce them as soon as they confirmed,” Mr Jenner told www.ashfordtownfc.co.uk.

“The first is that Simon Glover has agreed terms for next season so that removes an uncertainty as he chose us over a very good offer from Bromley.”

www.kentishfootball.co.uk telephoned Clive Walker at his home at 7:30pm this evening, but before he could answer our first question, he had to take a telephone call on his mobile from a potential new signing, who he’s meeting tonight.
