Glebe boss Gary Alexander given the tools to bolster his attacking options
GLEBE manager Gary Alexander has unveiled the signing of striker Frankie Sawyer, who has spent the past two and a half years playing for Sevenoaks Town.
“I’d like to thank Micky Collins and everyone at the club for an incredible spell,” Sawyer said of his spell at Greatness Park.
“After two and a half great years it’s time for me to move on. From a league title, to the club’s highest finish in their history, there’s been some incredible highs.”
Sawyer has decided to drop down a division from the Isthmian League South East Division to play in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division.
The Chislehurst-based outfit will have Charlie MacDonald, Jamie Philpot and Sawyer up front, while Alexander has used the lockdown period to get fitter and has signed on as a player for this coming season.
Glebe chairman Rocky McMillan has appointed Mark Knight onto the board at Foxbury Avenue.
The House DJ’s company Toolroom Records say they are feeling excited to be sponsoring the club this coming season.
“Toolroom Records are excited to be sponsoring Glebe FC for the 2020-21 season,” said Knight.
“The whole team at the record label are huge football fans so to be aligning our two passions of music and football with this partnership is really exciting.
“We see Glebe FC as a club full of vision and potential and we are looking forward to helping the club on its journey over the next 12 months and beyond.”
