Sponsorship deals will provide the necessary backing to pursue my ambition of Ryman League football within three years, says Glebe chairman Rocky McMillan
GLEBE chairman Rocky McMillan has heaped pressure on manager Adam Woodward and his management team.
The Chislehurst-based club sit unbeaten at the top of the Southern Counties East Football League First Division table after winning five and drawing one of their league games this season.
The club have announced an undisclosed three-year sponsorship deal with Mitre UK, a leading sports brand that was founded in Huddersfield back in 1817.
“This will provide the necessary backing to pursue my ambition of Ryman League football within three years,” said McMcMillan, who founded the club and will announce another two new sponsorship deals.
“I’ve told Adam Woodward, Sam Long and Charlie McCarthy, there’s a three-year contract for them whenever they want to sign it.
“I know people say ‘I can be a nightmare to work for’, but they don’t work for me!
“Woody is a gem and has been given everything he has asked for. He realises the potential of this club and has promised me that he will continue with this great start.”
Glebe are two points clear of Rusthall – the only side to take points of Glebe this season – and they welcome 12th placed FC Elmstead to Foxbury Avenue on Saturday.
Glebe will have to win promotion from the Southern Counties East Football League First Division and Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division back-to-back to realise the chairman’s aspirations of playing Ryman League Division One North or South football in three years’ time.
