We continue to work tirelessly within our local community, doing a lot of work that I’m sure goes unnoticed, says Forest Hill Park manager Lee Roots

FOREST HILL PARK manager Lee Roots says he is expecting a high-quality home game against Sporting Club Thamesmead tomorrow.

The Ladywell Arena based club are in eleventh-place in the Southern Counties East Football League First Division table with 17 points from their 12 league outings.

Roots’ side came away from struggling Snodland Town with a 3-0 win on 3 November.

“The performance from the team was a real high level on the day and against a side who was quite direct and offered serious threats in attack,” said Roots.

“We took control of the game early and the lads stuck to the plan from the first whistle and it really was an excellent team performance and victory.”

Forest Hill returned to the Ladywell Arena and sealed a 3-1 win over Bridon Ropes in the Southern Counties East Football League Challenge Cup Second Round.

“Yet again, it was another excellent and very solid team performance. I think we certainly carried a lot of momentum from our performance against Snodland into the game and again controlled large parts of the game and ran out as deserved winners,” added Roots.

“My only disappointment in the game was to concede a goal in the last five minutes but Bridon Ropes are a very good side who have an excellent attacking line, so to keep them quiet for 85 minutes was very pleasing.

“Two clean sheets in a week would have been great but I can’t complain at all with the application shown from my players resulting in two solid wins.”

Forest Hill Park welcome seventh-placed Sporting Club Thamesmead to Ladywell Arena tomorrow.

“The owner Lee Hill is a good friend of mine and we had a very entertaining game against them last month in the league, where we came out with a 2-1 win,” recalled Roots.

“The game will again be full of quality and it really will be a great game for all the neutrals out there to come and watch.

“Forest Hill Park continue to work tirelessly within our local community, doing a lot of work that I’m sure goes unnoticed by many so thank you to everyone who’s come to support the team this season, which is really seeing our following grow game by game.”
