Forest Green Rovers edged another point towards safety with a goalless draw last night.

Both teams cancelled each other out in a tight affair with neither side able to create any clear-cut chances.

Gravesend & Northfleet striker Onome Sodje went closest for the visitors but fired over from the edge of the area with 15 minutes left to play.
Michael Brough spurned Rovers' only chance of note just after the restart after beating his marker inside the box but blazed over.

Fleet manager Liam Daish, however,  was full of praise for opponents Forest Green Rovers, following the goalless draw.

"So far, the two hardest games we've had, home and away, have been Forest Green," Daish told BBC Radio Kent.

"They won't want to move into their new ground without being in this division, so they're fighting for their lives.

"They're relentless, they're at you from the first whistle until the last - but we stood up and were counted."

Meanwhile, Tony Quinton’s 18th minute goal was enough to seal three crucial points for bottom-of-the-table side Carshalton Athletic against Welling United at Colston Avenue in their Nationwide Conference South clash, in front of a crowd of just 236.

The Surrey side, whose game at Havant & Waterlooville on Saturday was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, scored the only goal of the game after good play in midfield found former Croydon striker Craig Dundas, whose goalbound shot was deflected in by Quinton.
