Folkestone Invicta part company with boss Andy Drury as chairman feels a change is necessary to take the club in a direction they want to go in
FOLKESTONE INVICTA chairman Josh Healey parted company with manager Andy Drury just a couple of hours after beating Bognor Regis Town yesterday.
The Cheriton Road outfit are in 12th place in the seventh-tier Isthmian League Premier Division table after their 2-1 win in Sussex, which puts them on 48 points (14 wins, six draws and 13 defeats) from their 33 games.
“Andy has put his everything into this club and worked tirelessly to help drive us forward,” said Mr Healey in last night's statement.
“I’d like to personally thank him for the dedication and commitment he has given over the past 15 months.
“We’ve had a strong relationship from day one, which means this decision hasn’t been an easy one to make.
“However, I feel a change is necessary to take the club in the direction we want to go in and to give us the best opportunity of where we want to be.
“On behalf of the club, we’re truly grateful for Andy’s contributions and wish him all the very best in his future endeavours.”
Folkestone Invicta are 12 points adrift of the play-offs going into their last nine games and host Chichester City at Cheriton Road on Tuesday night.
“Further announcements regarding the team’s management will be communicated in due course,” added the chairman.
The 41-year-old former Whitstable Town and Margate manager was in charge of 66 games in all competitions and Folkestone Invicta claimed 24 wins, 14 draws and 28 defeats, with a win percentage of 37% during his time at Cheriton Road.
