Fleet girls scoop awards

Gravesend & Northfleet Ladies’ team had their presentation night at the weekend, and it was celebrations all around, to the whole team for a successful campaign finishing 3rd place in their regional league and to the individual trophy winners.

Awards were handed out by manager Valter Antunes to :-

Amanda Spry - Managers Player of the Year 2005/2006, Jade McDermott - Runner up Managers Player of the Year 2005/2006

Jade McDermott - Players Player of the Year 2005/2006 , Sally Appleton - Runner up Players Player of the Year 2005/2006

Mel Bishop and Jade McDermott - Top Goalscorers 2004/2005 (tied on 18 goals each for the season)


Emily Hampton - Club person of the Year 2005/2006, Tina Martin - Runner up Club Person of the Year 2005/2006

Special thanks to Les and Julie Ruddock - top supporters and kit washing duties, and to manager Valter Antunes for his hard work over the season.

Spokesperson Tina Martin said: “The ladies team are very much looking forward to next season and committee and coaches are hard at work already making plans to start preseason training in June.

“Its always an important time for the team, to ensure success for the following season, with many positive changes for the club, including continued partnership with Gravesend & Northfleet FC and Fleet Youth section, providing professional training through qualified coaches and starting new girls sections to be announced soon
, this ladies club is 2nd highest place team in Kent and is very much one on the up.”
