Fleet chairman explains ticket price increase

Tuesday 07th August 2007

Ebbsfleet United, who kick-off their Blue Square Premier campaign with a home game against Northwich Victoria on Saturday, have explained the rise in admission prices at Stonebridge Road this season.

General admission has risen a pound to £13 and concessions (senior citizens, under 16s and students) will be charged £7 on production of ID.

But youngsters will be able to take advantage of a season ticket offer by joining the club’s Junior Fleet scheme, which will give members access to all home league games for a one off payment of £25.

“We have reluctantly had to increase general admission prices,” said Fleet chairman Mr Jason Botley on www.ebbsfleetunited.co.uk.

“But we have done a lot of research and found that, in the southern area of the Blue Square Premier, we still have one of cheapest admission prices.

“We have also introduced student concessions and our Junior Fleet scheme is really taking off.

“For under 16s to be able to watch every home league game for a total of £25 is a real bargain and we are finding that this is proving really popular, especially with your football clubs.

“In fact, (Kent County Leaguers) Guru Nanak Football Club have signed up all of their youth players for the scheme and that involves over 100 players.”

Meanwhile, Ebbsfleet United go into the new season with a new name, a new sponsor, a new kit and a brand new image thanks to the launch of their new website - www.ebbsfleetunited.co.uk.

"Dave Holden did a fantastic job running the club's first website" said Mr Botley. "But when he decided to stand down it was a great opportunity to overhaul our internet presence.

"We have had a lot of help from Ed Miller in developing the new site and we are very pleased with the results.

“The club are moving into a new era and we feel the site reflects the changes that are going on.

“We recognise that we can improve our communication with fans, and those with an interest in the club, and the new site should help us achieve that."
