Fleet appoint at the top
EBBSFLEET UNITED have today announced the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer and Chairman.
David Davis, who has a wealth of experience in finance, business and management will be the club’s new CEO and former Conference chief executive John Moules becomes Chairman.
Both candidates have also received the unanimous recommendation of the MyFC Society Board.
Mr Davis’ position will be a full-time role and he is currently negotiating release from his existing commitments. He will take over the day-to-day running of the club from the MyFC operators who will now be free to concentrate on the MyFC website and promotion of MyFC.
David, who is also a MyFC member, has pledged his firm commitment to the ideals of Ebbsfleet United and to the MyFC venture and has a good understanding of all of the issues surrounding the development of a democratically run football club.
Mr Moules has knowledge of football at Conference level that is second to none. He was chief executive and company director of the Football Conference for eight years to 2007 and is on first name terms with a host of club chairmen and managers alike.
John is very knowledgeable about many players at the Fleet’s level of football including issues to do with buying and selling. John is also an excellent communicator and has great experience in media liaison. His position with us will be part time and his role will concentrate on advice on football issues and on media statements. He will be taking over as Chairman from Brian Kilcullen who has remained at the club as interim Chair since the takeover.
“On behalf of all of us,” MyFC’s Paul Charnock told www.ebbsfleetunited.co.uk: “I would like to thank Brian for his invaluable help and advice during this initial period. I would also like to thank the MyFC Web Team for all their efforts in dealing with all aspects of the clubs activities since the takeover.
“It has been a difficult and sometimes thankless task in a role that none of them were familiar with at the outset and have had to oversee at an important part of the season.
“Their work culminated in the extremely successful Wembley FA Trophy operation in which 25,000 tickets were sold and successfully distributed.
“I would also like to acknowledge the patience and hard work of the EUFC staff and for the help and advice of the club secretary Roly Edwards.”
