Fisher boss Ajay Ashanike: Our aim and target stays the same and the boys are working really hard to put the club back to where it should be

FISHER manager Ajay Ashanike says he wants to lead the club back to where it should be.

The Rotherhithe based outfit are presently sitting in thirteenth-place in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table with eight points from seven games.

The Fish came away from Erith Town with a goal-less draw in midweek.

“We dug out a good goalless draw against Erith Town away on Tuesday night, said Ashanike.

“We had five players missing from the squad but shows how strong our squad is to get a good result on the road.

“Our season so far has been ok. Obviously it could have been better but we are in a better place than we were last season, which shows a bit of progress within the club.

“Our aim and target stays the same and the boys are working really hard to put the club back to where it should be.”

Ashanike admits to not having East Preston watched, ahead of tomorrow’s FA Vase Second Qualifying Round trip.

East Preston are bottom of the Southern Combination League Premier Division table with two points from their opening seven league outings.

“We are going into the unknown for this game. East Preston is a team we know nothing about but we have seen some of their results in the league,” said the Fisher boss.

“When teams play in Cup games the league form and standard goes out of the window, as we were aware against Tooting & Mitcham in The FA Cup.

“The team that turns up on the day will win. I feel if my team plays well, I believe we can play, we will win the game but if we fall below the form we should be, then the game could be harder for us.

“We’re going into this game without club top goalscorer Christian Udo and midfielder Jacob Katonia, who are both out due to injuries."
