Fisher boss Dean Harrison: We’ll just keep going until it’s mathematically impossible. I feel there are definitely a few twists and turns left in this one

Friday 09th February 2018

FISHER manager Dean Harrison was highly critical of the performance of referee Toby Enstone last weekend.

The Fish were held to a 2-2 home draw to fellow promotion rivals K Sports, who grabbed a last-gasp penalty through substitute striker Caine Smith, who scored his 19th goal of the season.

“Firstly, I’d like to thank the referee for not protecting my players at all, giving all 50-50 decisions against us and then finding seven minutes of injury time out of nowhere to allow K Sports to equalise from a penalty in the 97th minute!

“When questioned after he said ‘he only played four added!’  Embarrassing!

“In our previous home game against Phoenix we had to ask the linesman to alert the ref as he told us there were 18 minutes left when there were only five!

“Fortunately after a brief conversation with the assistant he realised his watch was wrong and rectified the situation.

“I think we can safely say the referee’s in the Southern Counties East Football League are not sponsored by Rolex!”

Punjab United took advantage by coming away from Kent Football United with a 6-2 win last weekend, while Fisher were held by K Sports.

Punjab are now top of the First Division table with 58 points from 24 games, a point clear of K Sports, while Fisher remain in third-place with 51 points and with two teams going up, Harrison insists his side will fight to make it an immediate return to the Premier Division.

Fisher host fifth-placed Kent Football United and Harrison said: “Tomorrow will be a tough game for us against Kent Football Untied. They’re a decent side.

“Big-spenders Punjab host Erith & Belvedere tomorrow so there’s all to play for as the Deres are a very good side on their day and more than capable of getting a result there.

“We’ll just keep going until it’s mathematically impossible. I feel there are definitely a few twists and turns left in this one.”
