Everybody involved in the club this year can hold their heads up high but a Cup Final would be that little bit of icing on the cake, says Fisher boss Dean Harrison

FISHER manager Dean Harrison says reaching a cup final will be the icing on the cake.

The club are in third-place in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table, having collected 62 points this season and are six points adrift of league leaders Corinthian with nine league games left to play.

Harrison’s men welcome Tunbridge Wells tomorrow, a side that are sitting in the bottom five with 31 points from 28 league games.

“Tunbridge Wells will be a tough test tomorrow,” said Harrison.

“They’re another club who have made some good signings recently and we won’t be taking them lightly because of their league position.

“They have a great support and it should make for a cracking atmosphere at St Paul’s tomorrow.”

Fisher came away from Corinthian with a goal-less draw on Tuesday night in the Southern Counties East Football League Challenge Cup Semi-Final First Leg.

“I thought it was a really mature performance by us in the Semi-Final at Corinthian,” said Harrison.

“The plan was to make sure we came away with something from the game to give ourselves the best chance in the home leg next Tuesday and the lads executed it very well.”

So, all to play for in the Second Leg in Rotherhithe on Tuesday 12 March (19:45).

“Corinthian are a good side, who are top of the league and haven’t lost in 15 games so it’ll be a tough one but it’s one we’re definitely all looking forward to and we hope the locals all come out to show their support,” added Harrison.

“We’re now in March and find ourselves third in the league and in a Cup Semi-Final.

“These things were unimaginable to our fans at the start of the season, so we’ll just keep going for them and ourselves until the very end and see where we end up.

“Everybody involved in the club this year can hold their heads up high but a Cup Final would be that little bit of icing on the cake.”
