The tide has got to turn, surely, says Fisher boss Dean Harrison

FISHER manager Dean Harrison says he wants to turn the tide starting at Ashford United tomorrow.

The Fish travel to third-placed Ashford United sitting in the bottom four in the Southern Counties East Football League table with 15 points from as many games.

Harrison’s side are seven points clear of bottom side Holmesdale going into the game.

Fisher suffered their eighth league defeat of the season last Saturday, a 1-0 defeat away to Sevenoaks Town.

“The Sevenoaks game was another one we’ll look back at and wonder how we haven’t come away with the three points,” said Harrison.

“Although we weren’t quite at it first half, we totally dominated the second but came away with no points – again!”

Harrison knows his side are in for a tough afternoon on the 3G pitch tomorrow because Danny Lye’s side are 10 games unbeaten and are eight points adrift of league leaders Hollands & Blair.

Harrison said: “Ashford will be tough as always.  They’re always there or there abouts and we travel to deepest darkest Kent as firm underdogs.

“We’ve no injuries of late and only one suspension, so no excuses.  It’s up to the lads to put in the effort and show what a good side we’re capable of being.

“We haven’t had the rub of the green at all so far this year but I believe you make your own luck in this life and it’s up to us to make things happen and to start getting some points on the table.

“We’ve dropped points to some really poor sides this season so we’ll have to find a way of getting some back against the big clubs!”

Monday night football returns when Fisher welcome Erith Town to Champion Hill Stadium, the home of Ryman Premier League leaders Dulwich Hamlet.

“Erith Town on Monday will be another tough one and I’m sure it will be a great game for the neutral under the lights in south-east London,” said Harrison.

“Hopefully we’ll give our fantastic, vocal, loyal fans something to celebrate for a change.

“The tide has to turn soon, surely.”
