First 50 fans watch Fisher for FREE thanks to popular You Tube channel Copa90

Friday 17th October 2014

FISHER will be hosting a very special event at their game tomorrow, in conjunction with popular YouTube channel Copa90 – where the first 50 fans to attend will get in for free!

The Fish host Pain & Glory Kent Invicta League side Eltham Palace at Champion Hill in a Kent Senior Trophy Sponsored by Darenth Print & Design First Round tie.

Copa90 have arranged for pre-match and half-time entertainment in a bid to attract some of their 750,000 YouTube subscribers and two million Facebook fans to the game.

Some of the channel’s top presenters will be hosting a meet ‘n’ greet from 2pm ahead of the 3pm kick-off and then at half-time fans will be treated to a display of astonishing football freestyle skills from Daniel Cutting, a holder of five current world records.

Cutting’s incredible ability combines football technique with skills from the worlds of gymnastics and breakdancing. It has to be seen to be believed – and fans who arrive early will enjoy Daniel’s display and the match for FREE!

Copa90 have offered the first 50 people to arrive after 2pm a free match ticket – these are sure to go fast, so make sure you arrive at Champion Hill in good time to collect a ticket from the Copa90 stall at the gate!

To gain free entry, fans should simply visit the Copa90 stall and say the word “CopaFam”.

And if all that was not enough, there will be a prize draw on the day with two copies of FIFA15 (one each for Xbox and PS4) on offer for the lucky winners.

Phil Mitchelson, the head of brand and audience development at the channel, explained what attracted Copa90 to Fisher Football Club.

“We have a studio in Bermondsey and we have been looking out for who our local team is – it happens to be Fisher,” he said.

“They are a great club with an interesting heritage and we want to get the stadium heaving for the next home game.”

Fisher director Jevon Hall, who has worked with Copa90 to arrange the day, added: “It was fortunate that Copa90, who are all about telling the stories behind the game, should discover that Fisher FC is their local club at the very moment when the Fisher story enters one of its most dramatic, and potentially heart-warming chapters.

“In just over five years, the club's supporters have taken Fisher from the brink of non-existence to the verge of a return home after a decade's exile in East Dulwich, Saturday's event is a celebration of community football, of supporting your local team, and for Fisher, it's a chance to raise awareness of the club's current situation, and this pivotal moment for its long-term future.”

Copa90 have already filmed a ten minute mini-documentary about the Fish called “Finding the Heart of Football: Fisher FC – An Underdog Story”, which can be seen at youtube.com/copa90.

The documentary features behind-the-scenes footage from training, interviews with fans and match action from Fisher’s 4-0 away victory over Seaford Town in the FA Vase.

There is plenty of off-pitch entertainment on Saturday, but the game itself is a local derby and could well be a cracker.

Fisher host Eltham Palace, who play in the league below but have only lost once all season and will be heading for Champion Hill with their eye on a cup upset.

The Fish are on a roll, having won their last two games without conceding a goal, so the stage is set for a fantastic game of football.

There will be a winner on the day – if the game is a draw at 90 minutes, a penalty shoot-out will decide which team goes forward to the next round.

The club has confirmed the admission prices for the ones that have to pay being at £7 (adults); £4 (concessions, 16-21, 60 plus, unemployed), FREE (accompanied under 16s)
