Erith Town striker Steadman Callender called up for Montserrat international duty

ERITH TOWN chairman Mark Deveney says the club are feeling delighted that one of their players has been called up for international duty.

 

Striker Steadman Callender has been called up by Montserrat for their CONCACAF Gold Cup play-off match against Trinidad & Tobago.

“The Montserrat squad flew into Miami yesterday and are preparing at the home of David Beckham’s MLS side Inter Miami CF – where the match is due to take place,” Deveney told the club website.

“Everyone at the club are delighted for this honour for the club and above all Steadman and his family.”

The match takes place on Saturday 3 July 2021 (02:30 BST).

Former Erith Town goalkeeper Nic Taylor, 30, who has recently left the club to sign for Southern Counties East Football League First Division side Croydon, featured for Montserrat's recent Qatar World Cup 2022 qualifiers.

Erith Town play in the ninth-tier of English football in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division, while Croydon are in the tenth tier.
