ERITH TOWN 1 LORDSWOOD 2

Monday 09th January 2006

Erith Town's involvement in the Kentish Observer Premier Division Cup came to an end at home to Lordswood tonight as they went down 2-1.

Manager Peter Little fielded a number of new signings but Erith struggled to get going in the first half and fell behind to two goals just before half-time.

The Dockers improved after the break and showed plenty of promise, Danny Nicholls pulling one back.

Erith piled on the pressure late on but had no luck in front of goal. Erith's final group match is at home to Whitstable Town on January 21.

Meanwhile,  forward Sam McNally's injury against Tunbridge Wells has been confirmed as a broken leg, in two places. Sam had an operation earlier today and everyone at the club wishes him well with his recovery.

Erith have made a number of signings in the last week or so. Joining the club are: Craig Hales (midfield), Danny Nicholls (attack), Danny Harris (defence), Tom Gibbons (midfield), Jamie Lover (defence), David Batt (attack) and James Tedder (goalkeeper).

The Dockers' under-18 Central side have reached the final of the LYFA Cup on Sunday. The team, who are a year under their age group, overcame Lewisham Youth 4-2 on penalties to reach the Under-17 LYFA Cup final after a 4-4 draw.
