ERITH & BELVEDERE manager John Wilfort says he wants to guide the club to a Cup final this season.

The Deres have dropped down to 12^th place in the Southern Counties East Football League table on 22 points from 19 games.

The Park View Road outfit will travel to Corinthian in the League Challenge Cup Quarter-Finals on 12 January and also have a Kent Reliance Senior Cup Quarter-Final tie at Holmesdale to look forward to later on in the month.

But before all of that, Erith & Belvedere welcome Croydon to Park View Road tomorrow.

“Well, I’m looking forward to our first game in 2016 against Croydon,” said Wilfort, who started the season in charge of league rivals Holmesdale.

“I believe this will be a tough game against a side who are very unpredictable so I will make sure my players are switched on and I prepare them correctly.

“We need to start getting some points on the table again and get a steady run together as 2016 will be a busy year, with us still being in two cup Quarter-Finals.

“The target is of course the cups but also finishing in a respectable position in the league in my first half of a season in charge here.

“We are in the process of building a good squad mixed with youth and experience, but for now we are working hard behind the scenes making the players adapt to the style of play we want them to play.

“This is a challenge myself and my management team look forward to.

Croydon arrive at Park View Road sitting in the bottom two with five wins, two draws and 10 defeats to their name.

Croydon manager Dickson Gill added: “Yes, looking forward to a good game as they are a good side and club.

“Yes, we have had lots of injuries all year so hope we improve on that now and move up the table in 2016.”
