We have met most of our targets for the season, says FC Elmstead boss Fabio Rossi

FC ELMSTEAD manager Fabio Rossi says he is looking forward to tomorrow’s trip to Newham United in the London Senior Trophy Quarter-Finals.

“It’s a Cup Quarter-Final and realistically the only Cup we can win. Even the League Cup is now both SCEFL divisions and very difficult to progress,” said Rossi.

“We don’t really know much about Newham, except that they have had an influx of new signings since the New Year and their last two results have shown a big improvement in results.

“I hope the lads go there with the right mentality and will to win.”

FC Elmstead go into the game with a run of four wins and two draws within their last six outings and are in thirteenth-place in the Southern Counties East Football League First Division table and Rossi is targeting a top half finish going into their last 14 league games.

Rossi said: “We’ve been in decent form of late. We just need to be more consistent.  Hopefully we can win our games in hand and jump into the top half.

“On the downside we have lost three regular members of the first team squad. Benga Ogunseye and Danny Patterson have opted to go to Badshot Lea in the Combined Counties League and Ashley Wright has moved up a division to join Fisher.  We wish them all well.  I’m currently looking to add one or two to the squad.

“It’s still only our second year at this level. We have met most of our targets for the season, we just need to get into the top half, which is achievable so we still have a lot to play for and feel we are moving in the right direction.”
