Daryl McMahon and Jay Saunders stay at Ebbsfleet United and Maidstone United respectively
EBBSFLEET UNITED chairman Dr Abdulla Al-Humaidi has revealed that he has received a number of approaches for manager Daryl McMahon from English Football League clubs.
Dr Abdulla told www.ebbsfleetunited.co.uk: “I will not name the club’s involved but Daryl signed a five-year contract last summer and has done a fantastic job at this club.
“I am well aware of how popular Daryl and his style of play is with our supporters and I would like to assure them he is totally committed to this club and that his ambition matches ours.”
Ebbsfleet United finished in sixth-place in the Vanarama National League last season and were defeated by Tranmere Rovers in the Play-Off Semi-Finals.
MAIDSTONE UNITED insist manager Jay Saunders is staying at the club following interest from newly-promoted Vanarama National League champions Macclesfield Town.
The Stones finished in the bottom five in the top-flight, avoiding relegation by two places and six points but Saunders guided the club to glory in the Kent Reliance Senior Cup, beating Bostik South Division side Folkestone Invicta on penalties after a goal-less draw.
Chief executive Bill Williams told www.maidstoneunited.co.uk: “There has been rumour and speculation over the future of our manager Jay Saunders.
“To put an end to that, I can confirm that Jay is committed to Maidstone United and will be continuing the role he’s had with the club since 2011.
“We are all looking forward to what is going to be a very exciting season and Jay, along with his management team of Steve Watt and Harrison Grant, are busy preparing their pre-season programme and looking to add players to the existing squad.”
