Ebbsfleet United part company with manager Daryl McMahon
EBBSFLEET UNITED have confirmed the departure of manager Daryl McMahon by mutual consent.
A club statement said: “The club wishes to place on record its thanks for Daryl’s achievements in his time at the helm since he took over from Jamie Day in April 2015.
“He has led the club to the play-offs in each of the last three seasons and won promotion from the National League South through the Play-Off Final in 2017. In the side’s first season back in the National League, the club reached the Play-Off Semi-Final losing to eventual winners Tranmere Rovers.”
Club chairman and owner Dr Abdulla Al Humaidi has expressed his personal thanks to McMahon, telling www.ebbsfleetunited.co.uk, “Daryl has worked tremendously hard in getting this club into the National League and consolidating us there.
“Naturally, this is a disappointing day for myself and the board in parting ways with someone who has been part of the very fabric of our club for the past three years.
“However, we believe it is the right decision for the club at this point in our development on and off the field.
“We wish Daryl all the very best in his future career and reiterate our thanks for all he has accomplished in getting the club to its current position”.
The club will now begin the search for a new manager with the club sitting in fifteenth-place in the Vanarama National League table with 23 points from 19 games.
The Fleet welcome Cheltenham Town to Stonebridge Road in The Emirates FA Cup First Round on Saturday.
