Dulwich Hamlet half-price Boxing Day offer for fans of Eagles and Lions

Wednesday 25th December 2013
DULWICH HAMLET are offering half-price Boxing Day football for fans of their two nearest professional clubs who cannot travel to their away games.

The Hamlet are in fourth-place in the Ryman Premier League table with 44 points from 21 games and are four points adrift of league leaders Wealdstone.

Gavin Rose’s side welcome a Grays Athletic that are in 15th place in the table and to boost the attendance on the most lucrative day of the season the club are offering half-price admission to fans of Crystal Palace and Millwall.

Crystal Palace travel to Aston Villa in the Premier League, whilst the Lions are at Watford in the Championship.

The deal, however, doesn’t include fans of Charlton Athletic, who are at home to Brighton & Hove Albion at The Valley.

“At Dulwich Hamlet we appreciate that fans of our local professional clubs cannot always afford to get tickets to support their sides when they play away from home,” said a club statement.

“It can be a strain on the pocket just to get to home games, such is the cost of Premiership and Football League across the board, all over the country, especially at this time of the year.

“Here at Champion Hill we already have lots of secondary fans, who follow a big side first and foremost, but who support Dulwich Hamlet as their second side.

“If you are a Millwall fan who has not been able to get a ticket for the game at Watford, or a Crystal Palace supporter who can’t travel up to Aston Villa on Boxing Day, we are offering you the opportunity to come to Champion Hill for our match at home to Grays Athletic at half-price

“That’s top notch semi-professional football for only a fiver!

“We are also reducing our concession rate to half price for Eagles and Lions fans, so if you are over sixty, a youngster aged 12 to 18, a full time older student, unemployed, an NHS or emergency services worker, or a serving member of the armed forces, instead of our already generous concession rate of £4, you too can get into the Grays Athletic match for only two quid!

“So if you want some good quality great value local football on Boxing Day, but can’t get to Vicarage Road or Villa Park, then you are more than welcome to stay local at Champion Hill.

“We’re not trying to poach you or anything like that, we know where your first football is, but we hope you will have a space in your heart for The Hamlet too!”

To take advantage of this offer, all Crystal Palace and Millwall fans have to do is produce a 2013/2014 season ticket from your club; a 2013-2014 membership card from your club or any ticket stub from any home December game from your club.

The statement added: “The only thing we respectively ask, is that if you quality for this special offer but already follow The Hamlet you pay your ordinary admission price, as we are trying to attract new support, not offer discounts to our loyal fans, who already know that every penny counts.”
