Dover Athletic unveil Nathan Elder signing

Monday 17th June 2013
DOVER ATHLETIC have today unveiled the signing of experienced striker Nathan Elder, who scored 15 goals in Conference Premier for Ebbsfleet United last season.

The powerful forward joins fellow new signing, former Chelmsford City striker Michael Bakare in what promises to be an exciting strikeforce, as Whites' boss Chris Kinnear steadily puts together a strong squad for next season.

The 28 year-old has five years experience in the Football League and became a target for Kinnear after he left Ebbsfleet last month. He netted 16 goals in total for the Fleet last season and was named November's Blue Square Bet Premier Player of the Month.

The 6ft 3in tall goalscorer started out in non-league with Hornchurch and Billericay Town, where he attracted interest from Football League clubs.

Brighton & Hove Albion purchased Nathan for an fee in 2007 and a year later Brentford paid £35,000 for his services. He scored 10 goals to help the Bees win the League Two title.

Another fee took him onto Shrewsbury Town in 2009. Then, after a few months in Conference Premier with Hayes & Yeading, he returned to League Two with Hereford United.

His move to Ebbsfleet in 2012 was his first full season in non-league football since 2007 and saw him finish 11th in the Conference Premier goalscoring charts.
