Dover Athletic freeze the cost of season tickets

Sunday 12th April 2009

DOVER ATHLETIC chairman Jim Parmenter revealed yesterday that the club has frozen the cost of season tickets for their Blue Square South campaign next season, writes Stephen McCartney.

The Kent giants collected their Ryman Premier League trophy and shield at Crabble yesterday, although they suffered their first league defeat on home soil with a flat 2-1 defeat to Boreham Wood.

A crowd of 1,346 flocked through the Crabble turnstiles - and Mr Parmenter, speaking in an audio interview with Justin Allen on www.doverathletic.com , has good news for fans.

“We’ve already decided today that we won’t be raising admission prices to the ground so prices will be the same next year,” he said.

“Season tickets, discounts will be available as usual and we’ll announce full details on that in a weeks time so basically if you buy before mid-June then the ticket prices will be the same price as last year.

“That’s a thank you to all the supporters and a recognition of the (financial) times that we’re in and we hope plenty of people take us up on the offer.”

Dover Athletic, with back-to-back Ryman titles to their name, will surely be one of the favourites to clinch the Blue Square South title next season.

“It’s a slightly different league structure from the last time we were there (in the Conference),” said the chairman.

“It’s a three division league now - we’re looking to go into the national league. Whether we’ll do it next year or whether it will take us a couple of years remains to be seen.

“But we’ll be talking about budgets and players in the next couple of weeks and I’m sure we’ll see a few new faces at Crabble next season and we’re going to give it a good go for promotion again next year.”
