Dover Athletic sign Mitch Bundle: We're delighted to get him

DOVER ATHLETIC have unveiled the signing of former Gateshead utility man Mitch Bundle on a two-year deal.

The 22-year old Londoner, who can play in midfield and at full-back, made 34 National League appearances for the Heed last season, including both games against Whites, scoring twice.

He becomes boss Chris Kinnear’s third summer signing following goalkeeper Mitch Walker’s decision to stay at Crabble and forward Jamie Allen’s arrival from Southport.

Brundle joined Gateshead from Braintree Town last summer after making 77 appearances for the Essex club.

He was a member of Braintree side that finished third in the National League before losing to Grimsby Town in the play-off semi-finals in the 2015/16 season.

Brundle started his career in the youth ranks at Yeovil Town before joining Bristol City.

While at Bristol City, he made seven Football League appearances while out on loan at Cheltenham Town in the 2013/14 season.

Dover Athletic assistant manager Jake Leberl told www.doverathletic.com: “Mitch is someone with plenty of versatility who can play in a number of positions, so we are delighted to get him.

“He has plenty of experience at this level for someone so young as himself but he also has the potential to develop even further.”

Meanwhile, Maidstone United have signed left-back Joe Anderson, 27.

Anderson, 27, has signed from their Vanarama National League rivals Bromley.

“We tried to keep him for next season,” said Bromley manager Neil Smith on 14 April.

“We couldn’t agree terms so Joe’s decided that he’s not going to play for Bromley Football Club anymore.

“It is very said, it is very sad.  He’s one of the (Conference South) champions. He’ll always be a champion.  I respect him. He’s been an absolutely brilliant player for this club.”

Meanwhile, Welling United have lost a couple of players to big-spending Billericay Town, who have also signed former Dover Athletic attacker Ricky Modeste.

Former Bromley and Dulwich Hamlet midfielder Danny Waldren and attacker Dan Walker have put pen to paper on deals at the Isthmian Premier side.

The Essex press have confirmed that Billericay Town’s wage bill stands at £25,000 per week.
