Deres appoint Brown as their new manager

Wayne Brown has been named as the new manager of Kentish Observer League side Erith & Belvedere.

The 36-year-old , who will also be registered as a player, takes over from caretaker manager Mick Acland.

The experienced central defender, joined Dr Martens Eastern side Fisher Athletic from Premier Division Welling United in August 2002 before transferring to Chesham United in December 2002. He was in his second spell with The Wings, with whom he began as a youngster, making numerous Conference appearances.

Moves to Kingstonian, Enfield and Boreham Wood followed before he returned to Park View Road in the summer of 2001.

He moved on to Waltham Forest in June 2003 and then accepted an offer to become player/assistant manager at Erith & Belvedere in June 2004.

This season, Wayne has been turning out for Southern League, Division One East Harlow Town.

A statement issued by the Park View Road club, issued on their website www.erithandbelvederefc.co.uk, said: "The board of directors welcome Wayne back to the club and we are sure that you will join us in wishing him the best of luck in his new position.

"The board would also like to express its gratitude to Mick Acland for the hard work he has done for the club so far this season and we will try to ensure that his experience stays with the club".
