I cannot ask any more from our coach Steve King and the players in terms of commitment, says Deal Town boss Derek Hares

Friday 30th December 2016

DEAL TOWN manager Derek Hares says he is pleased with his players’ commitment.

The club are in the bottom five in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table with 17 points from 18 games.  They are five points clear of second-from-bottom side Beckenham Town.

Deal Town host third-placed Sheppey United on Monday and Hares said: “We have a difficult game on Monday against a very good Sheppey side, who I am sure will be fighting for the league title until the end of the season.

“I have been pleased with the way we have been playing for the last couple of months but have been disappointed that we have not picked up the points that we should have done.

“We need to take more of the chances that we are creating and I am sure that we can get the points we need to move up the table.

“I cannot ask any more from our coach Steve King and the players in terms of commitment. The spirit is good and think anyone who has been to the club recently can see the club is moving in the right direction and we are all looking forward to the New Year.”
