Deal Town appoint coach Steve King as manager to replace the retiring Derek Hares
DEAL TOWN have promoted coach Steve King to the role of first team manager.
Dean Hill will take up the assistant manager role and Rob Edwards has been appointed first team coach, while Kieron Hollier remains goalkeeping coach at the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division side.
“I am delighted and proud to take on the role of first team manager at the club,” said King, not to be confused with the former Dartford manager.
“There has been a lot of work put in over the last seven years to move the club to the position it is today and I am really pleased to have the opportunity to continue that work.
“Along with the coaching team we will continue to do everything we can to help develop the club and team further and hopefully bring further success.
“The support has been phenomenal over the last couple of years with gates rising to around 300 last year and we will need everyone to get behind us as we continue this journey we are on.”
King replaces Derek Hares, who has recently announced his retirement from football management.
Deal Town finished in fourth-place in the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table last season.
A club statement added: “We are delighted that Kingy has accepted the opportunity after being an integeral part of the success the team have had in recent years.”
Deal Town welcome relegated National League South side Dover Athletic to the Charles Sports Ground tonight, as they continue their pre-season programme.
