Looking forward, we need to improve our away form, says Deal Town boss Derek Hares
DEAL TOWN boss Derek Hares says he wants his side to improve their form on their travels – starting with tomorrow’s trip to league leaders Hollands & Blair.
Deal Town travel to Gillingham on a five-match unbeaten run and now lie sixth-from-bottom in the Southern Counties East Football League table on 21 points from 18 games.
Paul Piggott’s Blair, meanwhile, are eight points clear of second-placed Greenwich Borough going into the first game of 2016.
“Looking forward to the game tomorrow,” said Hares.
“Hollands & Blair are a very good side and are looking good to win the league but we are in good form after a draw and four wins in our last five games.
“Of course, it will be a difficult game but I’m sure they will have to work hard to get anything from us.”
Deal Town have won only once in the league on their travels, with five wins coming at The Charles Sports Ground.
“Looking forward, we need to improve our away form,” said Deal Town’s manager.
“We have been very good at home, only losing three from over 20 games, but we have not won enough points away from home.
“If we can do that hopefully we can continue to climb the league and finish the season well.”
