Dartford sign ex-Maidstone United striker Delano Sam-Yorke
DARTFORD have unveiled the signing of striker Delano Sam-Yorke, who has dropped down a division to sign from Maidstone United.
Sam-Yorke, 29, has Football League experience with Cambridge United, before dropping down to spend the last few seasons in the National League with Forest Green Rovers, Woking and last season at Maidstone United.
Dartford co-manager Jamie Coyle told www.dartfordfc.com: “We are delighted that Delano has agreed to sign from Maidstone United. HE has both Football League and National League experience and adds another dimension to our front line with his physicality and pace.”
Dartford were runners-up in the Vanarama National League South last season, finishing on 86 points from their 42 league games. They finished level on points with Havant & Waterlooville, who were promoted as champions, while Dartford’s promotion hopes were dashed by Braintree Town, who won 1-0 at Princes Park in the semi-finals in what turned out to be Tony Burman’s last game in charge of the Darts.
The Iron sealed promotion by winning 4-3 on penalties after drawing Hampton & Richmond Borough 1-1 after extra-time in the Promotion Final.
