Dartford sign Darren McQueen: We were really impressed with him during his loan period last season and we are excited to work with him moving forward
DARTFORD joint-manager Adam Flanagan has made striker Darren McQueen the clubs latest signing.
The 25-year-old joins the club having left Vanarama National League side Sutton United.
The former Ebbsfleet United striker was at Princes Park on loan from February until the end of the season, which saw the Darts finish in tenth-place in the Vanarama National League South.
“We are delighted that Darren has agreed to sign. We were really impressed with him during his loan period last season and we are excited to work with him moving forward,” Flanagan told www.dartfordfc.com.
“Darren adds something different to the other forwards we have already retained.”
Dartford have 14 players on board for next season:
Mark Smith, Jordan Wynter, Ronnie Vint, Tom Bonner, Ryan Hayes, Lee Noble, Sam Blackman, Luke Allen, Ben Greenhalgh, Luke Wanadio, Alex Flisher, Andy Pugh, Charlie Sheringham and now McQueen.
The club explained the reasons as to why right-back Callum Driver, 26, has left the club.
“Callum Driver will not be returning for pre-season training,” added a club statement.
“Unfortunately, we cannot offer him regular first-team football and both parties felt that he should be somewhere playing week-in-week-out. We wish him all the best for the future.”
Dartford begin their pre-season campaign with a trip to Bostik South East Division side Sevenoaks Town on Saturday 6 July 2019 (15:00).
