Billy Crook leaves Dartford: Together we had a great season and was unlucky not to go all the way

Wednesday 05th August 2020

DARTFORD midfielder Billy Crook has announced his departure from the club today.

The 29-year-old posted a statement on social media to confirm that he will be playing his football away from Princes Park this coming season.

Steve King’s side reached the Vanarama National League South Promotion Final but suffered a heartbreaking 3-0 defeat on penalties after their game at Weymouth finished goal-less after 90 minutes of football last Saturday.

“All the best to Dartford moving forward, one of the most professional clubs that I’ve been at,” said the former Braintree Town, Dulwich Hamlet and Metropolitan Police midfielder.

“Big love to the fans who showed me love from my first game.  Respect to my team-mates, together we had a great season and was unlucky not to go all the way.

“Happy with what I produced in a short time here and made some good mates along the way.

“Looking forward to whatever comes next.”

Meanwhile, Dartford hit-man Darren McQueen has shared the Vanarama National League South Golden Boot along with Jonah Ayunga of Havant & Waterlooville and St Albans City’s Joe Iaciofano.

The trio scored 17 goals during the 2019-20 campaign.
