Dartford appoint Adrian Pennock as their new manager

DARTFORD have unveiled Adrian Pennock as their new manager.

 

The 52-year-old, Ipswich born Pennock played for Norwich City, Molde, AFC Bournemouth and Gravesend & Northfleet.

Pennock has managed Welling United, Forest Green Rovers, Gillingham, Barrow and Duli Pengiran Muda Mahkota in Brunei, where he was awarded the Singapore Premier League coach of the year in 2019.

The Darts are sitting in eighteenth (bottom seven) place in the Vanarama National League South table, having picked up 38 points (10 wins, eight draws and 17 defeats) from their 35 games.

“We are delighted to announce that after a rigorous recruitment process we have appointed Adrian Pennock as first-team manager with immediate effect,” said a club statement.

“He comes with significant experience having coached a first-team in the Premier League (Stoke City) and managed in the EFL, National League, National League South and internationally.

“He is qualified to the highest possible level holding a UEFA Pro Licence.  He has a track record o working with clubs at both ends of the table and is ideally placed for this season and beyond.

“His passion and vision for the future of Dartford Football Club was more evident and impressed us greatly.”

Since parting company with Alan Dowson on 11 January,  Tony Burnham returned to the dug-out and took charge of 10 games in all competitions.

Dartford welcome third-placed side Worthing to Princes Park in Vanarama National League South tomorrow (15:00).

Dartford have Welling United (36 points from 34 games) and Truro City (35 points from 30 games) beneath them in the table, with Taunton Town (34 points 30 games), Eastbourne Borough (30 points from 33 games), Havant & Waterlooville (25 points from 35 games) and Dover Athletic (21 points from 35 games) inside the relegation zone.
