Daish given funds to sign five players
Wednesday 29th July 2009
EBBSFLEET UNITED boss Liam Daish confirmed the signings of five players ahead of the new Blue Square Premier season, which begins on Saturday 8 August away at Altrincham.
Members have raised over £12,000, which means Daish has re-signed Ricky Shakes.
In addition, Daish has signed the following four players, all of whom have been on trial at the club; Jordan Collins (left back), James Lindie (centre forward), Ishmael Welsh (left wing) and Jamie Forshaw (right midfield / forward).
The five players have each been given contracts for the forthcoming season.
Daish continues to negotiate with several other trialists who have impressed, as well as with Dean Pooley who was with the Fleet last season and he is hopeful of news of more signings within the next seven days.

Meanwhile, Welling United boss Andy Ford has confirmed that Sanchez Ming has been released.
Ford explained that due to numerous options that he has in midfield, he could not guarantee Ming first-team football.
The Wings manager also hopes to sign a central defender on loan but stressed it may not be until the middle of August.
In other news, Welling can confirm the signings of both Dean Cracknell and Michael Dean.
Finally, recent signing James Lawson has been told by specialists that he will be out for the entire season. The striker received a bad knee injury in the pre-season friendly against Dartford last Thursday.
