Tuesday 12th June 2007

Folkestone Invicta manager Neil Cugley has made his second summer signing today.

Midfielder Ryan Briggs, 25, whose played for Tonbridge Angels and Erith & Belvedere, was one of seven players released by Ryman League Division One South outfit Dartford at the end of last season.

As an eighteen-year-old, Briggs spent some time in Folkestone’s midfield with Chambers and Billy Manuel, following his release from West Ham United.

Now 25, he has been signed to add strength to the midfield and is known as a dead-ball specialist who is often given responsibility for corners and free-kicks.

Briggs arrives less than a day after full-back David Piper, 29, who joins the Buzzlines Stadium club from Blue Square Southern outfit Bognor Regis Town, where he was captain.
