Croydon unveil Tyler Chambers as their new manager
CROYDON have appointed Tyler Chambers as their new manager.
Liam Giles left the Southern Counties East Football League First Division club at the end of last season after failing to seal promotion after finishing in eighth-place in the table.
The Croydon Sports Arena outfit have given Chambers his first job at first-team level, having won the Suburban League South Division title with Merstham’s under 23s last season.
“Croydon are delighted to announce Tyler Chambers as the Trams new first team manager,” said a club statement.
“Tyler has an exceptional track record at under 23 level with Merstham and we are proud that he will be making his debut in first team management here at Croydon.”
In three seasons managing the under 23s at Sutton Common Rovers, Chambers won back-to-back Combined Counties League under 23 titles, two under 23s League Cup runners-up and runners-up in the Under 21 Surrey Cup.
In two seasons managing Merstham’s under 23s, Chambers won the Under 23 Combined Counties League Cup, Division One Challenge Cup Runners-up and Suburban League South champions, finishing a point clear of their counterparts from Leatherhead at the end of the 2021-22 season.
Chambers will be managing in the tenth-tier of English football for the first time next season and will be assisted by Joe Brown.
