We are going to have to play nine’s out of 10, 10s out of 10 to beat Coleshill, says Crowborough Athletic boss Sean Muggeridge

CROWBOROUGH ATHLETIC manager Sean Muggeridge has challenged his players to give top performances to reach The Buildbase FA Vase Quarter-Finals tomorrow.

The Crows are sitting proudly at the top of the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division with 54 points from their 22 league outings.

Muggeridge’s men defeated sixth-placed Hollands & Blair last weekend to extend their impressive unbeaten run to 32 games, but they made four changes on Tuesday night and went down to a 1-0 home defeat to Newhaven in the Sussex FA Principal RUR Charity Cup Semi-Final, which was Crowborough’s fourth defeat in 40 games in all competitions this season.

Attention now turns to tomorrow’s Buildbase FA Vase Last Sixteen clash against Coleshill Town, a side in the top three in the Midland League Premier Division.

Coleshill arrive in East Sussex on an impressive run of form themselves, winning their last seven.

“I have watched them, very impressed with them to be honest with you., very impressed,” said Muggeridge.

“We are going to have to play nine’s out of 10, 10s out of 10 to beat them.

“I believe they’re a very, very good side and I expect a very tough game but they’re all going to be tough in the last sixteen.”

Crowborough Athletic, the last surviving Southern Counties East Football League club left in the competition, are so close to reaching the Wembley Final on Sunday 21 May.

But Muggeridge has insisted over the past few weeks that winning the League title is his main priority and would swap a Wembley appearance for winning promotion in April.
