There are no easy games in this division and this month will probably be our most intense yet but the reward of promotion is all the motivation we need, says Crowborough Athletic assistant Steve Ives
CROWBOROUGH ATHLETIC assistant manager Steve Ives says his side will be ready for an intense month as they bid to win promotion.
Sevenoaks Town sit at the top of the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division and they are 10 points clear of Crowborough Athletic and Whitstable Town, who are both battling it out to join them in the Bostik League.
The chasing pair do have, however, a couple of games in hand on Micky Collins’ side.
Crowborough Athletic host an Erith Town side tomorrow that are in the bottom four with 33 points in the bag.
“The fixtures are coming thick and fast now, all we can do is get our heads down and focus on the next opponent,” said Ives.
“There are no easy games in this division and this month will probably be our most intense yet but the reward of promotion is all the motivation we need.
“Our squad is so strong, we believe in the boys and are confident they'll rise to the challenge.
“It was disappointing that the Sevenoaks game got pulled at the last minute as we were all really up for it but the weather's been horrendous and the officials didn't really have any option.
“Prior to that the away win at Corinthian was a good three points and another clean sheet was pleasing.
“Tomorrow sees Erith Town visit us at the Community Stadium, another stern challenge no doubt from a side who caused us some problems the last time we met. We'll be prepared and ready to give our all, hopefully the home support will turn out in force and play their part.”
