We’ve set the levels high now and I think we need to get to those levels,” says Crowborough Athletic boss Sean Muggeridge

CROWBOROUGH ATHLETIC boss Sean Muggeridge believes the artificial playing surface at Homelands Stadium will suit his side.

The Crows celebrated Christmas with a good performance in a 3-1 home win over Sevenoaks Town on Boxing Day and they travel to play Canterbury City tomorrow.

The East Sussex side are sitting in eighth-place in the Southern Counties East Football League table with 26 points from 18 games.

Canterbury City, meanwhile, are one place below, Ben Smith’s side gathering three fewer points.

“Again, it’s going to be a tough game, it always is,” said Muggeridge.

“We’ve adjusted to the 3G pitch. It will suit our players. We’ve got good footballers.

“They’re going to be tough. It’s always tough to go down to Ashford. It hasn’t been a happy ground for us.  We lost 6-1 to Ashford. I don’t think we’ve won, we drew with Canterbury last year.

“It’s going to be another toughie again.  If we work hard I can’t see why we can’t go there and get the win. I’m confident at the moment.”

Crowborough Athletic impressed against Sevenoaks Town on Boxing Day and confidence is high that the club can maintain their form going into 2016.

“We need to go on, we’ve set the levels high now and I think we need to get to those levels,” said the Crowborough manager.

“I think we’ll win games, no doubt about it.

“I don’t set targets because they always blow up in your face but If we can get top eight, top six will be the higher one, top eight I will settle for now.”
