Cray Wanderers begin search for new under 21 manager

CRAY WANDERERS begin the search for a new manager to run their struggling under 21s after Phil Foster left the club today with the side rooted to the table with two draws from their opening nine league games.

A club statement said: “All at Cray Wanderers would like to thank Phil for his sterling work in getting the under 21 team up and running and the dedication shown to getting a team in the Ryman Development League North.  Despite some encouraging displays, the team are currently bottom of the table.

“Phil has worked tirelessly for Cray Wanderers from youth level and helped many of his Kent Youth League under 18 side with the club in preparation of the move to the tough competition of the Ryman Development League.

“Six of the side have appeared for the first team or been selected as substitute in the early weeks of the season.

“We wish Phil well with his future endeavours in the game.

“A replacement manager is currently being sought and the first team management team will look after affairs for Monday evening’s game with Harlow Town at Oakley Road.”

Cray Wanderers’ under 21’s play their home games at Holmesdale’s Oakley Road ground in Bromley, while the first team play their home games at Bromley’s Hayes Lane ground, competing in the Ryman League Division One South.

Charlie Foster, Joel Massamba and Edgar Morais have already featured for Tony Russell’s first team squad, while Sean Law, Charlie Horbacki, Dillon Green have sat on the bench in first team games without coming on.
