CRAY WANDERERS assistant manager Joe Vines says his side are prepared for a battle against fellow promotion chasers Hythe Town tomorrow.

To celebrate and support the new stadium application (plans pictured above), Cray Wanderers are hosting a footballing and planning launch extravaganza event before tomorrow’s game and there is FREE ADMISSION to the Hythe Town game for all.

Cray Wanderers are in fourth-place in the Bostik South Division with 38 points on the board from 19 games.

Lewes lead the way with 45 points from 20 games, followed by Carshalton Athletic with 42 points from 22 games.

The Wands came away from Colston Avenue with a point in a 1-1 draw last Saturday.

“The game against Carshalton was a good measure of where we are as a team as they are a good side on a very good run of form and we matched them in every department,” said Vines.

“On another day, taking into consideration the penalty save and the other opportunities we had, I feel that we had the edge but a point away from home against one of the teams that will be competing is a good point.”

Clive Cook brings his Hythe Town side to Hayes Lane sitting in seventh-place in the table, just a point behind the hosts.

“Hythe will be a different proposition tomorrow. They are always a tough side to play against and they have some good players so it's a game worth watching,” added Vines.

“We have had a great week working on shape and getting the boys re-organised so we are up for a battle.

“Our league position is not in our mind at the moment. There are a lot of points up for grabs at the moment and now most teams have played one another the league is starting to take shape.

“It's great for us that we are in control of our own destiny. We are not relying on someone else to do us a favour. If we pick up the points we expect to, we might find ourselves in an automatic place leading into new year. To be competing come April is the aim.”
