Cray Wanderers search for friendly

Wednesday 08th August 2007

Cray Wanderers manager, Ian Jenkins is searching for a hastily arranged pre-season friendly for this weekend, writes Stephen McCartney.

The Wands’ trip to Kent League club Beckenham Town, which was scheduled for Saturday, has been cancelled as the changing rooms at Eden Park Avenue aren’t available - pretty worryingly as Saturday marks the opening day of the Kent League season.

Jenkins is looking for a replacement friendly fixture this weekend, and he’s also searching for a physio to look after his first team squad.

If your club would like to welcome Jenkins’ side - or you’d would like to be the club’s new physio - please contact him on 07986 459 469 - please mention that you read this article on

It’s not the first time that a Wands’ match has been cancelled prior to their Ryman League Division One South campaign.

Their friendly at another Kent League club, Sevenoaks Town, was cancelled as the pitch at Greatness Park wasn’t ready for the 14th July clash.

Meanwhile, Dartford's trip to Burgess Hill Town on Saturday, has been cancelled as Tony Burman's side has "too many injuries."
