Thursday 15th February 2007

The London Football Association has awarded Molten Spartan South Midlands Division One leaders Cockfosters a bye into the semi-finals of the London Senior Cup, writes Stephen McCartney.

The Hertfordshire side were due to welcome Kent League side VCD Athletic to their ground on Tuesday night but the game was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

But Martin Ford’s men have been thrown out of the competition due to an administrative cock-up.

A statement issued on Cockfosters website said: “The London F.A. has awarded Cockfosters a bye into the semi-final of the London Senior Cup.

“Opponents VCD Athletic having been disqualified from the competition following a series of administrative lapses.

“The London Football Association have decreed that there is no right of appeal in this case.”

Cockfosters will travel to Bromley for a place in the final.
