Chislehurst Glebe chairman Rocky McMillan sacks Dan Lawrence in the morning after only 13 games in charge at Foxbury Avenue

Thursday 25th September 2025

CHISLEHURST GLEBE chairman Rocky McMillain has sacked another manager, as Dan Lawrence was axed this morning after failing to win any of his first 10 League games in charge.

The club issued a 20-word statement on their X account, saying, “Dan Lawrence and the coaching staff have left the club with immediate effect.  Wishing Dan every success in the future.”

The Foxes sit at the foot of the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division table, having lost eight and drawn two of their 10 League games this season and they have also lost their last five games.

“Unfortunately my time at (the club) has come to an end,” added Lawrence, the former manager of Canterbury City, whose reign in Chislehurst lasted only 13 games.

“Results haven’t been good enough and I am responsible for that.

“I’d like to thank Rocky for the opportunity and support and wish the club nothing but the best going forward.  I’ll be better for the experience.”

Chislehurst Glebe’s League game at Whitstable Town on Saturday has been postponed due to Jamie Coyle’s side hosting Hungerford Town in The FA Cup Third Qualifying Round instead.

It gives McMillan time to appoint a new manager, with the club’s next fixture being on Saturday 4 October, a home game against Sutton Athletic (18:30).

Glebe are a point behind the side immediately above them in the table (Stansfeld, who have two games in hand) and are three points adrift of safety (Keith McMahon’s Corinthian are in the bottom three with a game in hand).

Rob Lawrence, who formed part of the management team, has also left Foxbury Avenue, and so has Muhammed Cham, who has scored one goal this season.

Craig Nelson, who recently lost his job after only 11 games in charge of National League South side Tonbridge Angels, remains Glebe’s longest serving manager, having taken joint-charge alongside Danny Oakins for 68 games between 2022-2024.

Meanwhile, Hollands & Blair’s assistant manager, Richard Styles has left the Gillingham-based outfit today, too.

The former Lordswood (July 2016-September 2019) and Tunbridge Wells (July 2019-August 2024) manager, said on X: “My time at Hollands & Blair has come to an end and it is now time for me to step away.

“Met some great people with top moments at a great club with great people working there.

“Thanks to (manager) Darren Blackburn for everything since joining the club. All the best for the future.”

Styles is a current full-time coach within the Academy ranks at EFL Championship club Charlton Athletic.
