Chats appoint Binks as their new skipper

Chatham Town, who welcome Harlow Town to Maidstone Road for their last pre-season friendly on Saturday, have appointed Tom Binks as their new captain.

Manager Phil Miles, whose preparing the Maidstone Road club for their Ryman League opener against Croydon Athletic on 19^th August, told www.chathamtownfc.net : “Tom takes over from long-term captain Steve Best. Steve has become our assistant player-manager and needs to move away from leading the team on the pitch.

“Tom is a very capable captain and like Steve is a players’ and fans’ favourite. We look forward to Tom stamping his own style on the role and raising his profile within the club and in the game in general.”
