Chatham Town, Cray Wanderers and Thamesmead Town to play Ryman One North football next season

Thursday 15th May 2014
The Football Association has confirmed their League allocations between steps one and four for next season.

There will be two Kent clubs in the 24-club Conference Premier next season, with Welling United being joined by Dover Athletic, who became the first club in Conference South history to be promoted via the play-offs after finishing in fifth-place.

They can now look forward to facing Bristol Rovers and Torquay United, who dropped out of League football.

Relegated Dartford return to the 22-club Conference South and are joined by Kent rivals Bromley and Ebbsfleet United.

Bromley finished in third-place – their best ever finish in that division – and fourth-placed Ebbsfleet United lost 1-0 to Dover Athletic in the play-off final last weekend.

Relegated Tonbridge Angels will be playing Ryman Premier League football next season and will be joined by Dulwich Hamlet, Maidstone United, Margate and VCD Athletic in a 24-club division.

VCD Athletic won the Ryman League Division One North title on the final day of last season, beating Witham Town, who secured promotion via the play-off lottery with two home wins.

Relegated Kent pair Cray Wanderers and Thamesmead Town will be playing Ryman League Division One NORTH football when the new season kicks off on 9 August.

They will battle it out with fellow Kent side Chatham Town, who remain in that 24-club division.

There will be seven Kent sides in the 24-club Ryman League Division One South as Faversham Town, Folkestone Invicta, Herne Bay, Hythe Town, Ramsgate, Sittingbourne and Whitstable Town lock horns.

Guernsey remain in Ryman League Division One South next season after losing to Leatherhead in the play-offs.  The Tanners sealed promotion to the Ryman Premier League after beating Folkestone Invicta on penalties in the play-off final at Cheriton Road.

Whyteleafe, who became the first Surrey side to win the Southern Counties East Football League/Kent League title last season, will be playing Ryman League Division One South football next season.

The Church Road club will be the third club to play on an artificial pitch in the Ryman League. Maidstone United and Harlow Town being the others.

But Ashford United, who finished runners-up, remain in the Southern Counties East Football League next season.
