We have to keep going and keep winning games and not get too carried away about what we’ve done because we’ve done nothing yet, says Chatham Town boss Scott Lindsey

Tuesday 06th October 2020

CHATHAM TOWN manager Scott Lindsey says their home clash against fellow unbeaten side Tunbridge Wells is a big game tonight.

The Chats pulled off a great result at the weekend by dumping Isthmian League Premier Division side Folkestone Invicta out of The FA Cup with a very impressive 3-0 win at Cheriton Road.

Goal machine Dan Bradshaw scored a brace to take his goalscoring tally to 10 goals, while attacking midfielder Jack Evans notched his ninth goal of the campaign.

Chatham Town’s reward is a trip to Vanarama National League South side Havant & Waterlooville in the Third Qualifying Round on Tuesday 13 October 2020.

Chatham Town return to domestic matters and sit proudly at the top of the Southern Counties East Football League Premier Division with five wins out of five, scoring 26 goals in the process.

They welcome Richard Styles’ Tunbridge Wells, unbeaten in third-place in the table with two fewer points.

“Obviously it’s a big game for us,” said Lindsey, 48.

“It’s a game that we’re going to approach with a mentality to go and win the game.

“It’s an important one for us because it’s the next fixture so it’s the most important fixture because it’s the next one.”

Lindsey’s side have extended their winning run to nine games at the start of the season in all competitions.

“But listen, we’ve done nothing and I’ve said to the players’ we’ve achieved nothing yet,” said Lindsey.

“We have to keep going and keep winning games and not get too carried away about what we’ve done because we’ve done nothing yet!”
