Charlton Athletic's visit to Dartford made all-ticket

THE Visit of South Londoners Charlton Athletic to Dartford for a pre-season friendly at Princes Park in July has been made all-ticket, writes Stephen McCartney.

The pre-season friendly clash on Tuesday, 15th July, is expected to attract a crowd of over 2,000 to Princes Park as Tony Burman’s men prepare for Ryman Premier League football.

Dartford must make their games all-ticket if they expect a crowd of over 2,000 for the match and Jeremy Kite, Council Leader, told www.dartfordfootballclub.co.uk that a big crowd is expected for the game.

“The council wasn’t involved in the decision about all-ticket on this occasion but I must say that I support it,” he said.

“Not least because every time the club run a ticketed match for a special occasion the attendance is higher than you would anticipate for an unticketed one.

“I’m absolutely certain that the same rules will apply with regard to spare capacity on the day - that tickets can be purchased on the night - unless, of course, it sells out in which there’s no difference for anyone who can’t make the start.

“So, the club gets the benefit of committed attendance from those who pre-book and also the attendance of those who want to turn up on the night.”

Burman unveiled his third summer signing yesterday with Lee Noble, an attacking midfielder, being the second player to sign from Ryman One North outfit Brentwood Town.

Danny Dafter, a central midfielder, arrived on Wednesday night, along with Ray Powell from Tonbridge Angels, who can play either at right-back or as striker. Both of these players captained their sides last season and Burman said that the pair would “toughen” up the Darts for their Ryman Premier League campaign.
