Cable brothers' reunited at Thamesmead

Thursday 30th November 2006

Kent League leaders Thamesmead Town are pleased to unveil the re-signing of top striker Ross Cable from rivals Beckenham Town.

The signing means that Ross teams up once again with his brother Rikki, in a striking partnership that should wield plenty of goals for the Bayliss Avenue club.

“I think this is a big signing for us,” Keith McMahon, who clinched the manager of the month award for October, told www.thamesmeadtownfc.co.uk.

“He is one of the best forwards in the league and will be available for Saturday’s squad for the match at Hythe.”

Ross is no stranger to the Mead after he and his brother originally signed for the Mead last season from Faversham Town before go back to the Salters Road club a few months later.

The Cables returned again at the start of this season and while Rikki stayed at Thamesmead, Ross moved on to Beckenham where he has scored several goals this season. The signing should bolster an already strong squad at the top of the Kent league.

Meanwhile, midfielder Tony Gallagher will be sidelined for eight weeks with damaged knee ligaments.
