We are disappointed that we have to lose the services of Jamie Slabber due to our new training schedule, says Bromley boss Mark Goldberg

BROMLEY manager Mark Goldberg has confirmed that the club will be training three mornings per week next season.

The Ravens claimed their first league title for 54 years’ when they won the Vanarama Conference South title following a comfortable 3-0 win over Weston-super-Mare at Hayes Lane on 18 April.

The club has decided to change their training schedule as they come to terms with life in a 46-match Vanarama National League campaign, full of full-time outfits, which gets under way on 8 August 2015.

Goldberg has already enticed former Newport County midfield pair Lee Minshull, 29, and Max Porter, 27, to Hayes Lane, following their release from the League Two club last month.

Bromley then snapped up defender Sean Francis, 24, who was one of two players to be released by league rivals Dover Athletic.

Goldberg has inevitably re-signed his 21-year-old son Bradley, who has returned to Hayes Lane following his release from League Two side Dagenham & Redbridge, while former Luton Town striker, Alex Wall, 24, has agreed terms to sign for the club today.

Wall became the first signing of current Luton Town manager John Still back in 2013.

During his time with Luton, Walls spent time on loan at Dartford, where he scored six times in 11 Conference appearances last season.

Bradley Goldberg enjoyed a superb season on loan at Bromley in 2013-14, finishing the campaign as the club’s, as well as the Conference South’s top scorer. He was also named the League Player-of-the-Season and was in the division’s Team of the Year along with team-mate Pierre Joseph-Dubois.

The striker then returned to the club on loan from Dagenham towards the end of the last season, helping Bromley to win the league, with his most notable contributions being a hat-trick in the 6-0 win at Staines Town, as well as the crucial 81st minute winner in the top-of-the-table clash against Boreham Wood at Hayes Lane in April.

Manager Mark Goldberg has also confirmed that due to the club’s change in training schedule next season, striker Jamie Slabber can no longer commit to the club.

Slabber, 30, who scored 13 goals last season from only 15 starts, scored Bromley’s third goal in their championship winning game against Weston-super-Mare, to win his first Conference South title.

Mark Goldberg told www.bromleyfc.net: “We are disappointed that we have to lose the services of Jamie Slabber this year due to our new training schedule of three mornings a week.

“Jamie scored some important goals for us last year to help secure promotion and we all wish him well for the future.”

The Bromley manager added: “We are, however, pleased to announce the new signing of Alex Wall and the re-signing of Bradley Goldberg, this time officially as a Bromley player.

“Alex and Brad spent time together last year while both on loan at Bristol Rovers.

“Alex will provide great additional strength and a goal threat to our strong attacking options as well as National League and League Two experience.”

Bromley have 18 contracted players on their books ahead of their inaugural National League campaign.
