BROMLEY manager Mark Goldberg has today pulled off a double transfer coup by enticing two former League Two footballers to Hayes Lane.

Midfielders Lee Minshull, 29, and Max Porter, 27, were playing for Newport County last season and have put pen to paper on deals to play for the Kent club for their inaugural Vanarama National League campaign.

Porter, who has three England C international caps, has previously played for Cambridge United, Bishop’s Stortford, Barnet, Rushden & Diamonds, AFC Wimbledon, but was released by the Welsh club after three seasons, making 88 appearances.

Minshull, meanwhile, needs no introduction, having featured for Kent non-league clubs Sittingbourne, Ramsgate and Deal Town before moving to Tonbridge Angels, where he scored 17 goals in 40 league games for Tommy Warrilow’s in the Ryman Premier League during season 2009-10, which sealed a move to then Conference outfit AFC Wimbledon.

The box-to-box midfielder made a total of 20 appearances for the Dons in two seasons at Kingsmeadow, before switching to Newport County on loan in 2012, before going on to make 133 appearances, scoring 14 goals.

Both players were part of the Welsh side that finished third in the Conference back in 2013, reaching the Conference Play-Off Final where they beat Wrexham at Wembley Stadium to gain promotion to the Football League.

Goldberg told www.bromleyfc.net: “We are pleased to be able to add both National League and League Two experience to our squad with these two significant signings.”

Goldberg now has sixteen contracted players in his squad ahead of their Vanarama National League campaign, which kicks off on 8 August.

The Ravens celebrated winning the Vanrama Conference South title last month, the club’s first league title since the Isthmian League (Ryman League) was won back in 1961.

Meanwhile, when asked whether the club will revert to full-time status to cope with life in the top flight of non-league football, Bromley chairman Jerry Dolke replied: “Let you know next week.”
